Bakwena is a relatively new company, from an operational perspective, but has already touched the lives of thousands of motorists - by providing them with a safer and more efficient road, assisting in roadside emergencies and introducing electronic toll collection to South Africa.
Bakwena signed the Concession Contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Bakwena N1N4 Toll Road on the 4th October 2000 and achieved Effective Date, otherwise referred to as Financial Close, on 28 August 2001, the day on which the Concession Contract commenced.
